Erik Knudsen

Project Manager

With more than two years in the architecture industry and over a decade managing large-scale international programs, I bring a strategic and people-centered approach to project management. My career began in engineering, designing packaging for LaserJet printers before transitioning into global program management, where I led complex initiatives across multiple countries. These experiences honed my leadership, organizational, and cross-cultural collaboration skills—strengths I now apply to design-build projects in the architectural field.

As a Project Manager, I oversee projects from concept through completion, coordinating with clients, consultants, and contractors to ensure each deliverable aligns with goals and timelines. I’m passionate about mentoring and developing team members, fostering growth and confidence while maintaining efficiency and project excellence.

At Hillside, I’m proud to have quickly taken on leadership roles in complex projects, including managing the design and construction of a 10,000-square-foot daycare in Avimor, Idaho—a project especially meaningful to see come to life. My professional focus includes systems thinking, process optimization, and team development, helping projects run smoothly while empowering people to thrive.

Outside of work, I’m a competitive cyclist and professional coach with podium finishes in major regional road and mountain bike races, including the Tour of Walla Walla Stage Race and the High Cascades 100. Cycling challenges me both physically and mentally and provides another avenue to mentor and inspire others.
